Social Media & E-mail Address Tips

Job seekers need to be professional even at leisure!

When you like or comment on a social media post, understand that you are leaving what is termed "social media footprints" and these are traits that hiring managers use to build your personality profile. So while posting and re-posting funny memes, understand that once it crosses the line of intolerable racism, sexism, religious bigotry, or cyber bullying, it can seriously harm your career advancement prospects. Also,  With so many ways to get a free email address there is no reason to have a cheesy one on your resume or anywhere in your contact information or social media handle.

We get tired of seeing emails like bigdaddy007@xyzmail.com or buggiebearpookie@xyzmail.com on professional resumes or social media handles like TexanRedneck713 or MoneybagWeight281.

Show recruiters and HR departments that you are serious and professional from your first impression which is usually your resume.

Get an email with your name in it, something like johnysmith123@xyzmail.com.

Remember, everything on your resume matters!
